More than 30 years of
scientific excellence
Since our foundation, scientific research has formed the basis of every innovation we develop. Our in-house Research Team brings together PhD candidates, experienced researchers and project leaders — all sharing a passion for improving chick quality, welfare, and hatchery performance.
Working from our headquarters in Veenendaal, the team conducts research in close collaboration with Wageningen University & Research and contributes to international poultry conferences and scientific publications.

Jeroen Snijders MSc.
Researcher
Jeroen focuses on translating biological research into innovative incubation and in-ovo sexing solutions that improve animal welfare and hatchery performance worldwide.
Anne Pennings MSc.
PhD Candidate
Anne researches how egg storage duration and warming rates influence embryo development and chick quality, earning recognition for her work at the WG6-IFRG Conference in Antalya.
Lennard van den Tweel MSc.
PhD Researcher
Lennard is developing early and non-invasive in-ovo sexing technologies through a PhD collaboration between HatchTech, Wageningen University and Vrije Universiteit Amsterdam.
Mathijs Luimes MSc.
Project Leader
Mathijs combines scientific expertise with biotech product management experience to lead innovation and product development projects at HatchTech.
Dr. Carla van der Pol
Research Manager
Carla has been leading HatchTech’s scientific research projects and collaborations since 2020, following a PhD focused on improving leg health in broilers through optimised bone development.
Dr. Jan Wijnen
Senior Researcher
Jan specialises in incubation strategies and early feeding research, focusing on improving hatchability, chick quality and long-term poultry performance through scientifically optimised incubation conditions.
