At the beginning of The SELEGGT circuit, all trays are scanned. Each egg has a specific position within the tray. The barcode provides this information to the computers, allowing the machine to place the fluid sample in the corresponding position on the sample plate at the end of the process.
Fluid is extracted through the shell using a specially designed pipette. The pipette is placed back next to the same egg from which the sample was taken.
The machine positions the pipette at the corresponding place on the sample holder and dispenses a small amount of allantoic fluid onto the sample plate. The foundation of the SELEGGT technology is the trusted PCR-method to analyze the DNA of the embryo in the hatching egg. Because DNA never lies, this is the most reliable method for in-ovo sexing, leading to an accuracy of over 99,5%. This makes the SELEGGT method the most reliable method available and results in an unmatched yield of female eggs.
